Life in the Shadows
The mission of the Boundaries of Life (BoL) Research Initiative is to identify, characterize and classify all life forms on the earth and beyond that fall outside our current definitions of biology. This high-risk, high-reward project address fundamental yet unanswered questions in biology, such as the physical parameters and bounds on life, possibility of multiple origins of life on earth, and co-existence of as yet undiscovered life.

This project has been made possible with support from the Templeton Foundation.
